Eugene Parrott, 94, died Tuesday at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was a native of Pulaski, Ill., and a retired truck driver for Local 710.
Survivors: sons Jerry and Carl Parrott; daughters Imogene Dickerson and Phyllis Hammaway; a friend, Florence Vaughn, who cared for him; and several grandchildren and great- and great-grandchildren.

Jerry served in the military (Army) during World War II. He was a salesman for many years at Riverside Chevrolet/Oldsmobile in Cairo, Illinois. Later he was owner of Jerry's Auto Sales. He was a member of the Elks Club in Cairo, Illinois. He attended Mighty Rivers Worship Center. Jerry was an avid hunter and assisted with coaching little league baseball.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy Cerney (Ron) of Plano, Texas; by two sons, Terry Parrott (Wilma) of Jackson, Missouri, and Rob Parrott (Tonya) of Paducah, Kentucky; by three grandchildren, Tyler Parrott of New York, New York, Cassandra Parrott of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Logan (Stephanie) of Dayton, Ohio. In addition, Jerry is survived by several nieces and nephews. He is alos survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the McClellan family of Illinois.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; by three siblings, Phyllis Hamaway, Imogene Dickerson and Carl Parrott; by his wife, Eva Graves Parrott; and his life companion of many years, Ruth McClellan of Mounds, Illinois.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Mighty Rivers Worship Center (address below) in Cairo, Illinois.
Visitation is at 9:00 a.m. followed by services at 10:30 a.m. Interment will proceed after services at the Mounds, Illinois, National Cemetery. Jones Funeral Home Villa Ridge is in charge of the arrangments.

Karen loved to travel. Her favorite destinations were the beach or the Smokey Mountains. She enjoyed going to the movies and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She and her grandchildren always enjoyed their fainting goats. For many years, she was a back-office associate at Wal-Mart.
Karen is survived by her children, Bradley (Shannon) Trammel of Olive Branch, Lucas Trammel, and Corey Trammel, both of Cobden; grandchildren, Avery Mendez, Ethan Mileur, Tinley, Jenna, Landon, and Dawson Trammel; siblings, Vickie (Grover) Mays of Dongola, Billy Davis of Jackson, MO, and Lori Isom of Cape Girardeau, MO; special friend, Pat Mowery; her furry companion, Mazy; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Trammel and her parents. She will be dearly missed.

A graduate of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, she came to Florida for two weeks and never went back. Val loved nature and animals; nothing was more exciting than a flower that bloomed or a new shoot from a house plant. She was a teacher and loved nurturing her young students to the fullest of their potential.
An accomplished musician, a piano was always near her wherever she moved. All who were acquainted with her were touched by her vibrant spirit. She was the loving wife of the late Worthy Maynard, and a devoted mother of Matthew Parrott. She is survived by her sister, Georgina Rettinger, and brothers Edward, Walter and Wilbert Schwilm and Marilyn Caldrone, Christine Lilja, Carol Campbell and Terry Butner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and siblings Carrol and Ludwig. Matthew would like to give a special thank you to all the island community who got to know her and touched her life for over 30 years.
